Jeffreys Bay Factory Shops
These shops are all conveniently situated in the centre of the actual town of Jeffrey’s Bay, and are generally within walking distance of one another – so carrying those heavy bags does not interfere with your shopping spree!
The prevalence of factory shops stocking “surfer” gear has been born out of the popularity of J’Bay as a surfing spot and holiday locale. This has created a destination that is young, dynamic and fun; bustling, but always a relaxing getaway. This, in turn, has made J’Bay perfect for visitors of all ages, regardless of the purpose of their stay.
The main factory shops include Billabong Surfer Girl, Country Feeling, Quicksilver, Rip Curl, Jeffrey's Bay South Africa Surf Clothing and Factory Shops Jeffrey's Bay.
These factory shops stock well-known labels such as Roxy, Billabong, Quicksilver and Rip Curl. Available items are not the “old” stock that consumers have come to expect from factory shops. In fact, most stock is concurrently being sold in regular retail stores throughout the country. While some items are being sold at discount prices because they are slightly damaged, it is often the case that the damage extends only as far as a faulty label or them – making the incredibly reasonable prices well worth the purchase. These discounted prices are, in fact, a major draw-card, in addition to the shops’ close proximity to the beach and city centre, as well as the wide variety of labels and clothing items available at each store.
One of the best known factory shops is the Billabong Shop in Da Gama Road, just one block from the beach. This store boasts an enormous array of clothing and surfing gear and equipment, including wetsuits. Just a few blocks’ walk from the Billabong factory shop is Roxy in St Croix Street, famous for stylish surfer-girl wear for any occasion. Quicksilver in Jeffrey’s Street is another popular hotspot for the avid shopper, as is Rip Curl, perfectly located on the corner of St Croix and Jeffery’s streets.
